Wise Nutrition Words from Ashley Koff, RD & Amy Fischer, RD

We were lucky to work with Ashley Koff, award-winning dietician and Amy Fischer, registered dietician and nutritionist on two of our new JRINKs: Pumpkin Chai and Stateside Superfood. They provided us with some super-helpful info regarding ingredients in these two flavors.

"Make new friends but keep the old..."

So the song goes, and so go our nutrition recommendations. We love the new broccoleaf, but we also live for our broccoli and kale; we love what vanilla bean can add to a beverage, but we still live for, and get better health from all thes pices like cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric; we love how organic whole pea protein can complete the nutrient balance of a smoothie, but you won't find us reducing our intake of other plant proteins (hemp, cashews, almonds, and more.)

Peas, PLEASE!

With most of the starch and fiber removed, what's left over is a high protein, low cab treat that your body is able to digest and absorb more efficiently, happy belly anyone? Yes, pass the pea protein smoothie (Pumpkin Chai) please!

Lucuma Matada!

Just when you thought there wasn't enough room for another superfood...Lucuma (aka "Gold of the Incas"). While we love maple syrup and raw honey to add sweetness and nutrients, we want to introduce you to lucuma, a Peruvian fruit that adds a delicious, creamy low glycemic sweetness as well as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants like beta-carotene, iron, zinc, vitamin B3 and calcium.

The Latest Spice Gal: Vanilla Bean

We're using spices to turn things up a notch. Who doesn't love the taste of vanilla, and did you know that vanilla bean powder is an anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory powerhouse? That means, sip by sip your body gets more support to help keep you healthy while you enjoy the taste. Win, Win!
