Lets talk about stress, baby.

Mushroom Noodle Soup For The Stressed Out Soul

...you’re not though, you’re human and stress happens. Whether you consider it stress or not, your body gets stressed everyday. It’s the little things like, traffic, social media FOMO, or running late because it's your Uber Driver’s first time driving a car-- you know the deal.

These little stressors add up and wreak havoc on your body. What you might not know is that over time all the stress causes adrenal fatigue. Adrenal glands are in charge of regulating hormones like cortisol, which plays a significant role in how you’re feeling. How do you know your adrenals are fatigued?

Here are a few examples:

  • Headaches
  • Lowered sex drive (can usually be fixed with Marvin Gaye, but Maca works well too)
  • Constantly tired but Still. Can’t. Sleep.
  • Food cravings (midnight munchies anyone?)

Wanna know something that can care for your adrenals and regulate cortisol levels? Say hello to our lil’ friends -- Adaptogens.

Adapto-what? Adaptogens are non-toxic herbs & medicinal mushrooms (not the kind you find at Coachella but equally life-changing & ~magical~) that help you adapt to stress by defending against stress and improving the adrenal glands’ health.  Fun fact: the term was coined back in the 1940’s when Russian soldiers started taking adaptogens to help them adjust to combat and to fight longer.  We aren’t fighting a literal war everyday, but if life is our battlefield then stressors are our battles.

Quick fixes are never an actual solution. Fixing something can take time and should be intentional. We take adaptogens everyday, not just when stressed but proactively to regulate our homones. Then when something happens, our body is prepared to handle itself.

So what are some different types of adaptogens?

  • Ashwagandha
  • Reishi
  • Cordyceps
  • Ginseng
  • Schisandra Berry
  • Astragalus
  • Ginseng
  • Maca
  • Lions Tale

Okay, how do I pronounce those and how can they be consumed?

Glad you asked.  Adaptogens can be taken as a pill, added to a smoothie, or our personal favorite -- in a warm soothing Superfood Hot Latte.  Yup, basically a hug in a cup.  We have 5 delicious flavors (and beautiful colors!) that range from Minty Hot Chocolate using Ashwagandha, to a Green Matcha using Cordyceps.  You can order these from our favorite online source, Moon Juice.

Peace. Love. And Ashwagandha. ✌️
